What Should I Expect When I Visit?
Don't worry about dressing in any particular "style" at Long Valley Presbyterian Church--come as you are! A typical Sunday morning service includes:
Welcome & Announcements
We provide information on upcoming church/community events, and make known any needs within our church.
Various Prayers
We talk to God throughout the service through various kinds of prayer. Whether it be Prayers of Adoration & Illumination, Confession, Prayers of Joys & Concerns, or Offering Prayers, all are ways we speak to God and provide opportunities to listen.
Singing
There are various opportunities to sing both contemporary and traditional hymns throughout the service. We also have an amazing choir that sings a “Choral Anthem” each Sunday. Sing joyfully from the bottom of your heart or take the time to hear others sing praises to God, whatever you feel comfortable doing.
Preaching
A 12-15 minute sermon is typically given by our Head Pastor. Each week we hope the sermons provided will be theologically sound, scripturally based, and relevant to what is going on in our lives and in our world. Previous sermons are available on our livestream via website www.lvpc.net.
Tithes & Offerings
Each week, we give thanks for the generous gifts that we’ve received which support our church and the various ministries that we are connected with. There is an offering plate at the front & back of the sanctuary where people can drop off their offerings, either before or after the service. In addition, Click Here to see other ways that you can support LVPC financially. Please know you are under no obligation or pressure to give an offering. We do so as a grateful response for how generous God has been to us and with a sincere desire to want to support LVPC and its various ministry partners.
The Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month at both the 8:30am & 10am services, as well as “Online Worship.” We strongly believe in an “Open Table” meaning that everyone is welcome to participate in communion.
Fellowship
Stay after to chat, drink coffee, catch up, and invest in one another in our Fellowship Hall following our 10am service! This is our “family time” together and we look forward to getting to know one another.
